Whitewater adventure is the attraction for those who experience the Wild and Scenic Middle Fork Salmon River. The river bisects the Idaho Primitive Area on its way to the  confluence with the main fork of the Salmon.  Only Dagger Falls (listed above) is accessible without the need for rafting.  The others require an extensive backcountry excursion.  They include Velvet Falls, USGS Big Soldier Mtn (1990), Tappen Falls, USGS Bear Creek Point (1962 ns), plus Veil Falls, USGS Puddin Mtn (1962 ns), can reportedly be seen flowing from the canyon wall along aptly named Waterfall Creek.  For river guide information, contact White Water, Bureau of Tourism and Industrial Promotion, Room 108, Capitol Building, Boise, ID 83720.
